The Hunt was a canadian band (ex - Dillinger) and this debut album is their best, in my opinion. Typical hard rock of the mid-eighties, with a melodic feeling, good vocals and guitars, use of keyboards and occasional flute. Imagine a mix of Legs Diamond, Rush and April Wine. Enjoyable.

The definition of SOLID rock! Not blowing minds or re-inventing anything, but a balanced album of well played multi-instrumental rock; tasteful and subtly effective use of hammond organ and flutes, great guitar, and most of all, fun! What more cold you want from a heavy-AOR record?

The Hunt formed from the ashes of another Canadian progressive rock band Dillinger. The opening track "I Was Only Dreaming" is a fantastic straight ahead hard rock # that includes a flute that actually works in the accompinant with the heavy guitar. They released two more albums that strayed away from the progressive hard rock to more of a MOR/AOR hard rock formula that sounded like these guys wanted be from the Lone Star state rather than from Ontario.
