"Completely unreleased at the time but finally seeing a release on Seelie Court is the 1969 demo tape made by the band Karakorum, who released absolutely no music at all in their lifetime. They were a hard working band who were apparently quite popular on the live circuit (opening for Mott, Pretty Things, Audience, Edgar Broughton Band, etc.), and who received a good amount of press, including one in Sounds stating that Keith Moon liked them. The demo (along with a rehearsal tape The Gate of Thought) received a release in 2022. This album is really good, perhaps offering a glimpse of massive potential rather than excellence itself. The songs are interesting and the playing is wonderful, so with a little fairy-dust this could have been a classic. It's still better than half the Vertigo, Dawn and Neon catalogues, however."
"Rather astonishingly, the drummer was Martin Chambers who years later was to found in the back row of the Pretenders, a position he still holds whenever Chrissie decides to tour. I hung out with Chrissie and Martin once and now I'm kicking myself that I didn't know about this fascinating group so could quiz him about those days."
Here, at Ezhevika Fields, I'm providing information & listening preview samples of lost albums from the past. My only aim is to promote real art & music for some reasons currently unavailable according to my sources. If you are the artist or label & would like the link to be removed just contact me & it will be done.
I'd like to thank all original uploaders; collectors sharing music giving us the unique possibility to explore the culture. Thank you!
