Cool album, with tracks 4 & 5 being especially groovy slices of 1970s melancholic bliss. Thanks Lisa

Really, really... really great.

Vanay recorded in 1975 her second solo album ''Evening colors'' with minor help by Serge Derrien on guitar and Jean Chevalier on drums. The album was credited to a fantastic group called Gateway to hide the female-fronted nature of the project and was withdrawn from the market, as Vanay was in a coma after an accident. It was re-released two years later by CAM records. The style is a beatiful, melancholic and mystical soft Prog Rock with a mainly instrumental character and occasional chants, largely based on organ, electric piano, synthesizer and mellow electric guitar and I would dare to call it Library-styled Progressive Rock.Very dreamy music with excellent, calm arrangements and pretty accurate dual keyboard moves by Vanay in a relaxing mood.It has a certain cinematic touch all over and it's highly atmospheric, a very good work indeed.

3.6 / 5 RYM
